I picked at my skin and have left some ugly scarring, how can I get rid of it?

Would microdermabrasion work? I mainly picked at acne on my face but I also did on my buttocks and arms. It's ugly and I'm otherwise, very preety. I had a disorder called body dysmorphic disorder which made me think my skin was really bad and it caused me to pick all over but mainly on my face, arms, back and buttocks. I'd pick at tiny pimples or ingrown hairs. Now that I'm better, I want the ugly reminders to go away. Help!

don't use microderm abrasion it will make your skin more light sensitive. facial washes, keep skin clean, oil of evening primrose tablets good for skin vitamin e, coca butter and finally almond oil takes away scarring. don't use any make up for a while at least when at work at home keep it clear.
Reply:Suddenly plastic surgery came to mind but that can be expensive. One answer is obvious. Stop picking! If you have already stopped and there's some scarring, maybe you can speak to your doctor about the problem and maybe he can give you some samples of some cream. I sorta have the same problem so that's what I can think of.
Reply:well u need a psychiatric councellar who would make u realise there is nothing wrong wt ur body

n what ever scars u hv can be corrected wt laser
Reply:if you rub vitamin E (in oil form) into your skin it will minimise the scarring but im not sure if anything can get rid of them totally. The vit.E will certainly help though.
Reply:I hear Mederma is very good for old scars. You can buy at any local drugstore over the counter.
Reply:Yes, microderma will work, but only if your scarring is mild. severe scarring can only be cured by laser resurfacing, deep chemical peels or dermabrasion (all three pretty invasive procedures, with pain and lots of money involved).

After 6-10 microderma sessions (and I'm talking about professional treatments, not at home kits), you will see your scars fading and a much fresher appearance coming to light. you will love it, i'm sure. i know i do...

Good luck.
Reply:They have a special cream for scaring called maderma or a cheaper version is scare zone.I have had simular scaring amd it is working it takes awhile for results, but it does eventually make scars less visable.
