Reply:not sure about disorders but it can cause breakouts and it changes the chemicals in the body too which could probaly make you look pale,
Reply:Sometimes, and stress can also cause headaches, heart palpitations, and other physical symptoms:(
Reply:yes
Reply:Absolutely. One of the most significant disorders caused by stress is Vitiligo (losing the color of your skin). At least this is what the doctors told me. On the other hand, whenever they cannot find the cause of any disorder, doctors blame it on the stress...
Reply:Yes it causes acne and eczema.

You stress out to much and on your jaw line you break out in pimples/boils.

One of my friends is going through a lot right now and she has hives especially in her hairline and along her waist and bra line. Doc said she needs to chill out and they will go away in the meantime she lives on benedryl for the itching.

My new puppy has a skin problem?

I have a new chiwienie and she has small rough patches on her stomach. Could this be from fleas or what other skin disorders could a puppy have she is about 5 weeks old. Her brother also has the dry patches on his stomach. Does anyone know what I can do to help her with her being so young? Links would be appreciated

My new puppy has a skin problem?
Demodex mange is a good possibility and its usually passed on from the mother to a puppy with a already weakened immune system. Its flippin' horrible and expensive if its not treated very soon! It can become generalized and cost you a mini-fortune!!

But it could be a whole host of other things. The only reason I thought Demodex mange is because they are still with their mom and one day my husband found this little 6-8 week old, fuzzy mutt wandering around the parking lot near where he eats lunch and brought it home. She had had the small rough patches that all of a sudden grew overnight and forced us to max out our "care-credit" vet charge card. It was Dem. Mange!! Its NOT contagious.I decided to do my own research and came accross this link below...great link with alot of information , scroll down the page and choose a topic from the index.. PLEASE read up before you make any decisions and good luck!
Reply:Bring her to a vet and have those spots scraped to test for demodex mange. It is usually a result of a weak immune system. It is treatable but it's no fun and not inexpensive.
Reply:My mother in law got a Chihuahua puppy a few months ago and he had these little dry spots all over his face and belly, like what you are describing. She took him to the vet and got him a prescription that cleared it up within a week. I think it was some sort of bacterial infection. Her other 2 dogs never caught it though. Try looking it up on the dog version of WebMd that I always use:

http://www.helpmyhound.com/index.php
Reply:Dogs can suffer from skin problems associated with allergic reactions, skin diseases or wounds. We recommend the use of a "complete healing system" to provide deep healing for sore or irritated skin. This system is as follows:

Your dog should be shampooed with an anti-itch shampoo to cleanse and soothe the affected area and to prevent the spread of skin disease through bacterial infection. To start the healing process, it is vital that the scab or flaking skin be gently removed by using a medicated cleansing product. Trimming the hair from around the area allows the medication to reach the skin.

Watch for the formation of new tissue which will appear shiny and pink in color. This is an indication that the healing process is well under way. However, as the skin begins to heal, itching will increase. Use a skin relief spray to stop the itching and pain so that the delicate new tissue is not damaged by scratching.

Continue to promote deep healing with the use of hydrocortisone cream containing aloe vera and vitamins B and E which soothes and nourishes the healing skin.

Hot Spots

Hot spots are localized areas of acute, moist and inflamed skin. Hot spots are usually set off by flea bite irritation, allergies or Survey with an irritating substance such as chemicals or harsh soaps. These spots are extremely itchy, causing the dog to constantly lick and scratch, making the spot worse.

The most important step in treatment of hot spots is to immediately stop your dog from further licking and chewing of the spot. A skin relief spray will help stop the itching and pain.

Moderate to severe hot spots, as well as re-occurring hot spots require veterinary attention.
Reply:vet. my dog had something similar where he would even scratch them and irritate more. They prescribed him some pills :)
Reply:Puppies have young immune systems that are not yet at full strength, and therefor are vulnerable to infections of all kinds, including staph infections of the skin. See your vet about treatment, otherwise she may sustain permanent damage to the skin, including scarring and hair loss.
Reply:They have left their mom too soon, and very recently.. Might be from being over licked by mom .. Or because they are from a puppymill or byber.. It might be urine burns...
Reply:sounds like ringworm. if so it is very contagious. get them to the vet asap

it is illegal to take puppies away from their mothers before 8 weeks in most states %26amp; they should stay untill 12 wks

Skin disorders?

i have large wheels and inflamation which is very painful, can you give me any info on what it could be, it is spreading all over my body

Skin disorders?
Sounds like an allergic reaction.Try taking an antihistamine tablet. But go get checked out at the doctors just in case its a virus or something
Reply:It could be eczema or an allergic reaction,You need to get a appointment to see your GP
Reply:Try changing your washing powder or the soap wash u wash yourself with.In the winter our skin can be very sensitive and dry so try keeping it moisturised. If that doesn't work I suggest u visit your GP.
Reply:i would stop using anything you use on your skin , for example moisturisers and visit a dermotologist or doctor (who will probably refer you to a dermatoligist) ASAP . im may be medical .
Reply:well it could be ringworm, but then again it might be an allergic reaction to some thing , if your in great pain , take a trip to emergency´s. okay you might have a wait but, best have it seen to, hope you get better soon , Happy new year
Reply:could be ring worm (sound like) it could spread over you and to others

Friends, I have new white spots on my skin these days?

Friends, I have new white spots on my skin these days, but I don't know the name of this skin problem in english to search for solutions for it, I want a site specilized in skin problems but in IMAGES (PHOTOS) to be able to see my condition and search for medication for it, I saw this skin disorders in images on Yahoo health sometime but I can't reach to these images right now, please help and advice me.

Friends, I have new white spots on my skin these days?
Could be tinea versicolor.

Ok skin problem, please help me!!!?

I have this major problem when I go out and stay under the sun for like 10-20 minutes I almost start bleeding in my face!!!

I mean its not like a sunburn - I just start having skin disorders whenever I stay out in the sun for long periods of time. Even sunscreen does not work well with me. I have consulted a doctor and he has suggested that I avoid sunny periods of the day and stay mostly under the shade, because my skin has reached the maximum amount of pigments it can produce so i can darken no longer.

This thing has majorly impacted my willingness to do a part time job in a charity organisation, and i had to stick with something less exciting: teaching. I have no idea what I can do.

Thank you in advance.....

Ok skin problem, please help me!!!?
I have the same problem!

But I can't avoid the sun... I have classes in the morning... n I have to walk like 20 minutes from the parking lot to my class! So I use tons of sun block... but yeah ur right... it doesn't work as much as its supposed to!

I don't get a tan (never have in my life)... my skin gets extremely irritated... to the point that everyone asks "what happened to ur face?"

I think Dead Persian is onto something :D lol... use a hat... I'm gonna run n buy a hat to see if it works... :D
Reply:Ummm I think your doctor has already told you what to do. Theres not much you can do besides not going out in the sun. Maybe wear a wide brimmed hat?
Reply:you could get a second opinion. i know you're doctor is good but if you feel like you needed more info and you wanted to know more alternatives, you could always ask for a second opinion. this is very serious considering that you might not be able to do the things you used to enjoy and you sounded really upset
Reply:Well maybe you should wear a mexican hat!!! .....lol..... :D

To seriously answer your q, i think its one of the teenage skin disorders we usually face...its just like acne - and hopefully will wear off when you get older. Must be really painful to go out in the sun...Well stay well by the way :)
Reply:Get a second opinion with a dermatologis, other than that stay in the shade

Does anyone know a holistic doctor in los angeles who specializes in candida related skin disorders?

I have itchy, rashy skin, and I need help.

Does anyone know a holistic doctor in los angeles who specializes in candida related skin disorders?
Candida skin disorders actually have to do with internal problems. You do need to be diagnosed, but there is a whole candida cleanse system you can use and some foods, etc...to avoid to prevent it from getting out of control again.

Is there a disease/mental disorder in which one doesn't have a normal perception of the skin/body?

one cannot fell well(as one normally does) when touching oneself or does not perceive pain or any other action( like grabbing the hand or scratching a cheek) as usual. Somehow the peception is vague. For example: when scratching an eye one can fell the pression, the heat of the hand and the fact that the itching is gone , but one cannot fell clear the touching. Can it be a reaction to some medicine(like medicines for o cold)?or can it be caused by a poor mental state like depression, stress or tiredness?

Is there a disease/mental disorder in which one doesn't have a normal perception of the skin/body?
There are many diagnoses for conditions like this. Is this something that has come on suddenly or has it been a life-long condition? It would have to be looked at by an expert. I would advise that you check with your primary physician and he may recommend a neurologist.

Good Luck!
Reply:There are children born like that that can't feel anything. Its called "congenital insensitivity to pain with anhidrosis," referred to as CIPA by the few people who know about it.

Unless you have gotten on new meds lately you could talk to the doctor about it.

I have this skin disorder, called SEBORRHEA, %26amp; my face is dry, peeling, %26amp; burning. If I put any regular lotion, doctor-prescribed cream, or ointment, it burns really bad. Any suggestions on how to make my facial skin look normal?

Reply:Ask your dermatologist
Reply:Try putting on sun tan loyian or skin creme. Whatever you do, do NOT put any oils on your face. They can totally damage your skin and addict zits and pimpals.
Reply:have a self spa day sit in the bathroom and let the shower run (take a steam shower) it will feel like you are in a sauna and then when you are done rinse your face with a face wash now that your face is clean use a mint julep mausqe leave it on your face for 10 minutes then rinse after that wash your face again with the face wash and take another steam shower.

Reply:I worked in the nursing home for a few years, and there was a patient who had beautiful skin it just glowed. Yes she was the patient. I asked her how did she do it, she said she had a skin condition growing up and she finally learned that Vaseline on her face every night while she slept worked.

I hope this helps, it sure did her wonders. she was almost 90 and had the most beautiful skin.

I tried it but did not keep up with it, it does leave the pillow kinda nasty so I would get a pillow cover or something.

Is it normal to have all these skin disorders?

I have eczema (which is a chronic condition); two years ago I had acute urticaria (I don't know what the cause was); and now the doctors says I have pityriasis rosea. Is this normal to have all these skin conditions? How do I overcome my skin problems?

Is it normal to have all these skin disorders?
possibly you have a bad immune system?try and eat healthier,i have eczema also, and i was on a candida diet for about 2 months and saw big improvements, basically it just clenses your system, which can help improve your excema..

Reply:See a naturopath. Maybe you have a poor diet? The naturopath will look at your blood and tell you what might be going on, like your body is too acidic and you need to change what you eat. My cousin's wife saw one for tumors in her liver. She's on a strict vegan diet now along with chemo. So far, the tumors are shrinking. I'm not saying you will have to go strictly vegan, but you might just have to eat better, drink more water, and take better care of yourself before something else happens. Take care and good luck.
Reply:It is not "normal" to have skin problems, but it is not uncommon either. Your best bet is to stick with the dermatologist but also do the other healthy things - antioxidant rich foods and beverages, don't smoke, etc.

Extreme itchiness - what causes it besides skin disorders?

besides allergies or skin conditions like eczema and seborrhea can cause extreme long lasting skin itchiness? internal or mental conditions?

Extreme itchiness - what causes it besides skin disorders?
Dry Skin, nervousness, dust mites, (from cleaning dusty dirty what evers) flea's , If you just got your hair cut the fine hair on your skin will make you itch, to much soap in your laundry,
Reply:AIDS
Reply:itch powder
Reply:itchiness can be caused in winter months by dry skin which becomes dry because of the dry air your house heat produces. Normal air humidity in summer is 50%--in winter it can drop as low as 20%. This will dry your body skin and make it itch as it becomes dehydrated. Try getting a good humidifier for your home. Sears makes a good 5 gallon one with a fan, and it works great. My winter itchiness has all but stopped since I have been using it in the last 5 years. Good luck.

Can stress cause you to feel the sensation of bugs crawling under your skin?

Am very worried about a family member, as recently caught up with her, and she told me that the doctor said she is stressed, and the stress is causing her to scrath and pick at her skin. She says she feels like there are insects crawling under her skin. It looks awfull, and they are all over her body. Ive never heard of stress causing such a condition. Can anyone tell me if there is such a skin disorder, or could it be caused from something else. Im worried because she has a baby son, and we very rarely see her, as shes always makin excuses as to why she cant see us. Just hoping that shes not lying to us about whats really happening.

Can stress cause you to feel the sensation of bugs crawling under your skin?
Yes, I had that symptom with untreated (before medication)

anxiety disorder (a chronic stress condition). It's called parasthesia.

It can also be caused by diabetes, hypothyroid, vitamin deficiency and other causes. I have diabetes, hypothyroid and panic disorder (all treated with medication), so if I feel it bothering me, I know I've waited too long to take my medication or I am under an unusual amount of stress.

Tell her the above and ask her to see a doctor (maybe offer to go with her - or babysit if you can), because there is help for this condition.
Reply:stress manifests itself in many ways
Reply:Honestly, I've seen crackheads do that.
Reply:sounds like a cocaine addict. its a wierd thing that happens to connect with the drug cocaine.

look up and read about cocaine bugs.
Reply:my first thought is drug abuse b/c

1) she does not want you to see her

2)meth users develop sores on their skin that they pick, meth cannot metabolize through the organs so it eats its way thru the skin causing the sores

3) often times a person on drugs esp meth will act nervous or anxious

never put it put past someone she could be using. get involved for the her sake and the childs, she is going to push you away and make it difficult but stand your ground
Reply:It could be drug addiction. Meth can cause some people to feel like they have bugs under their skin, and then they dig at themselves.

On the other hand, there's a controversial disease called Morgellons. It's unknown whether it's an actual disease or a psychological disorder, but its symptoms are scratching to the point of bleeding, and sometimes people even find red, black or blue "fibers" in their skin.

I feel for you, as it sounds very odd, and I'd be worried since she has a baby. Listen carefully to her, and offer her a shoulder to cry on.

Stress can cause things like this, though, as well as a ton of other symptoms. When I was coming off of Zoloft (an antidepressant), I scratched myself raw. Other things: How old is her son? Did she have post-partum depression? Was she prescribed anything for PPD?

What kind of genital skin disorders are there?

As the previous answerer said, profits are more important.

And that's waht the cancer industry is all about.

There have been natural cures for cancer for many years, but the cancer industry has managed to keep them very quuiet.

For details of the cancer industry, see the site below.

There are some links to sites with natural cures too.

Don't worry about it, profits for wealthy corporations are much more important than cancers and blindness--who cares as long as stockholders get more money? But seriously, it is a problem, there is a town in South America that shuts down totally during daylight, its too dangerous to be outside there when the sun is up. Its insane that people think its acceptable to ruin the only planet we have just so business profits can be higher.

Okay if your going to say something about michael jackson color of skin dont bother to answer this question!!!

i am a black person so have some respect for michael...

okay michael jackson has a rare skin disease right and i hate the fact as me being a black person it is a way for someone of another race to make fun of his skin disorder. NO DEFENSE!!! but anyway i was looking at a picture recently and i saw his daughter who supposedly looked very clear to me to be white, but because michael jackson is black does that mean that she is black too, or light skinned, or have some kind of black in her. because this is where i am getting confused...

Okay if your going to say something about michael jackson color of skin dont bother to answer this question!!!
WACKO JACKO is just tryna confuse everybody...

shamona hehe
Reply:I don't believe that Michael Jackson has Vitiligo, but that aside...his children are biracial. Their skin color is negligible.
Reply:This is were most people get confused? its like what do we call her right? black? white? african-american? caucasian? just put it this way. Shes america and thats all there is to it. There is no definition saying that all americans have to be pure blooded white or pure blooded black.
Reply:Genetically she has black in her.
Reply:Personally, I Don't Believe She Is His Biological Daughter, Because His Genes Are Still Black Regaredless of His Appearance...
Reply:Michael Jackson is black so IF he used his dna to create her then yes... she is mixed. Half black and half... white (I guess that's what the mom is). Honestly though... I have doubts about him using his own sperm for that insemination
Reply:once i had a neighbour family - she was as black as elephant's *** and he was a white blond guy. they had daughter who was absolutely white with blond hair. she just had this black women's protruding bee a's's, that was her only resemblance with a black person. and i know that was their mutual child cos i saw black women pregnant and then with the baby and then this baby grew up in front of me. so i guess mixed family can have either black or white kids sometimes
Reply:First of all....there is NO proof that Michael Jackson has a skin disease. It is most likely self mutilation, skin bleach and cosmetic surgery gone bad!!!

Secondly, his daughter is adopted. All 3 of his children are. He has never fathered any child.

And a question for you....as a black person I would think you would be offended at that "man"'s obvious hatred for his own skin color. He goes out of his way to try to make himself white and adopts 3 white children.

So...why do you feel some sort of "kinship" with someone like that?
Reply:its called go away you liberal pos grow some thicker skin stop playing the victim card about it because black ppl make fun of him too sticks and stones break your bones but names will never hurt you learn it live it and grow up
Reply:His daughter would be half black, even if she looks very light skinned. She just happened to inherit her pigmentation from her mother is all.

edit--assuming that she is his biological child. Allie says she was adopted. Could very well be, I didn't know that.
Reply:okay, michael indeed is black, both his parents are... and true, all his kids are white... but notice how he never talks about how his children were conceived or who the mother is or anything... so he could have chosen any random beautiful white lady to be the mother of his child and pay her millions of dollars to let him have the baby after she delivers it.. it might even be from another guy.. adopted maybe.. never know.. like i said the guy never talks about the personal life.. maybe he is the father of the white kids and they're all white color skin but have black features... we'll never know cuz he covers their faces all the time.
Reply:She is black but her mother would have to be white for her to have white skin. So she would be half black and half white.
Reply:his kids....are half black and half what ever nationally the mom is....just because M. Jackson claims to have a skin disease doesn't take away him being black.....I'm from racially mixed parents....father white, mother black..I claim both
Reply:If I may answer your question with a question- isn't mixed black/latino and white called mulatto? I know mixed blood people and sometimes there is no way to differentiate what race they are...besides, who cares? If she wants to embrace one culture or both, it is her decision. By the way, I am Native American.
Reply:Apparently Debbie Rowe - the mother of Michael's first two children - told Irish newspaper The Sunday World - that Michael is not their biological father. So that would maybe go to explain why they haven't inherited any of his looks. :-)
Reply:Ok here is the thing. He has vitiligo but it dont take away him being black. His children have to be white/black mixed then.

Well its possible if an individual have a weaker gene and other with a stronger the stronger would have more influence on the child.and since their mother is white and blond there is no doubt. It is possible for the kid to inherit almost all the white features (blond, light skinned ect) and have no black features at all.i have seen mixed ppl who actually have almost no visible feature of 1 of the race. those idiots claiming michael has paid or wadever to hide that the kid is somebody elses plz get a life
Reply:Michael's children are mulatto and with mixed race children they can take after either parent!

♥♥We Love You Michael!!!!♥♥
Reply:Paris Jackson's mother is white. Therefore her skin color is light because her mother is, and Michael wasn't extremely dark to begin with, I think that people just blow the whole children thing out of proportion, I have a friend who's mother is white and her father is black and she is very light skinned, it doesn't mean that her father isn't really her father.

Edit:

I would also like to add that Michael is a vegetarian, and so his children probably are as well. Typically, eating lots of fruits lightens someone's complexion, which might explain why his children are lighter in color.

♥We Love You MJ♥
Reply:HIS DAUGHTER'S MOTHER IS HALF WHITE, SO THATS WHERE SHE GOT HER COMPLEXION FROM
Reply:I agree with u.I am confused too.I believe that his daughter and son, whom Debbie gave birth to (cause as u know his other son is adopted) are half black and half white despite Michael's skin color.Michael is black and nothing can change that. But to be honest I still don't understand why his kids don't have dark skin..ok I know that when one parent is white and the other is black the kids that are born have a not too dark skin and not too white skin either u know..so why are Michael's kids white like milk?I have a friend who is black and her husband is white. And their kids are white! It's really confusing.Anyways the thing is that MJ's kids do have sth black in their blood.

Can anyone tell me who is the best skin specialist in bangalore.?

I am suffering from a chronic skin disorder that is folluculitis on the scalp and seborriac dermatitis and also pimples. My face is very oily and i sweat a lot. I am 27 years old. I went to each and every skin specilist in my home town but no one could cure this. The results were short termed. As soon as i discontinued the medications my problems returned. I am suffering from hair loss due to this problem. There is lot of irritation on my scalp due to these lesions on my scalp. I take bath every day with dandruff shampoo. I have heard a lot about Dr Bhatra in bangalore. Please tell me is it worth going to him and also some one please tell me who is the best dermatologist in bangalore.

Can anyone tell me who is the best skin specialist in bangalore.?
You have a problem of oily skin and too much of sweating. You may first want to take some steps yourself. Well if you wish to take certain measures yourself then try these:

1. Avoid applying any oil, creams or lotions on your scalp, face and body.

2. Avoid hot spicy food and chocolates

3. You are overdoing the things perhaps - should restrict washing your body using soap to once or twice a day only.

4. Avoid anxiety of whatever nature.

5. Get yourself a good air conditioner which maintains good temperature control as well as humidity control.

6. If you are not allergic to Doxycyclines, then take one tablet or capsule (100 mg each) twice daily for 7 days and then switch over to one daily for the next seven days. You will be OK.
Reply:I do'n know, but u should not take it easy. please go to a good doctor.
Reply:The best skin specialist is Dr. Prakash on Richmond road. The man is a genius. He does not just prescribe regular medicines, but has special preparations made at Cash pharmacy, just for the patient. Also, if you can happen to get hold of Pro-Activ, I've heard it is the best thing in the world for treating Acne. It does not come cheap, but it has a near 100% success rate. Google pro activ for more information. Hope that helps. Good luck.

What causes darkning on the skin?
I think is a normal genetic characteristic, but if you think is too dark, ask to the doctor.

Someone with knowledge on skin and rashes?

I have these weird looking rashes all over my body, including my arms legs sides stomach and groin area. At first I thought they would go away but they seem to be getting worse. They look like stab markings. Could it be an allergic reaction or do I have a skin disorder or what?

Here are some pics of my rashes any help would be appreciated.

Someone with knowledge on skin and rashes?
Yes, they are stretch marks, very typical. My husband gained weight rapidly when he was taking an antidepressant and got them in all the same places.

Check your weight, figure out what it is that's causing you to gain, and speak to your doctor about what you can do to arrest the weight gain.
Reply:To be honest they look a lot more liek stretch marks. Which are caused when your skin doesnt have enough elasticity to stretch with the growth of your body. If its a rash then I havent see anything like it... are they symptomatic?
Reply:Looks like stretch marks ,,Probably brought on by rapid weight gain losing some weight will stop new new ones..

The skin will lighten up after time
Reply:Hun, that's not a rash, those are simply stretch marks! When people pack on a little weight, those tell-tale stretch marks pop up to let the world know you've "grown" a little bit too much. Try to cut down on fattening foods and pump some iron to firm up those arms and the marks will change from red to your skin colour after a while.

If you don't, you might as well just get used to the red marks. But if you take charge of your lfe NOW, with semi-regular exercise and watching what you eat most of the time, they'll be almost un-noticeable afterwhile.

It's not a rash, so don't worry. I've seen stretch marks a million times before.

:)
Reply:I admittedly have poor vision, but, this could also be a condition called Livedo Reticulitis. This covers most of my body, and is most often associated with an autoimmune disorder- Antiphospholipid Syndrome. It shows more often when cold. I am including a site that has a picture of this. (Scroll down to skin conditions) For some this can come and go, but it has become permanent on me.

Best wishes
Reply:Thank you for posting pics that makes the description clearer. Good heavens I haven't seen something like that unless you were a lady who's expecting. An easy cheep way to examine your skin would be to order a 30X handheld lighted microscope. you can put the scope right on your skin to see it. See if you see any tiny thread like things blue, black., red , or white under your skin. That's morgellons. if there are none then I would see any household chemical like laundry soap 5that takes 5 rinses to get out maybe causing your skin to do that .Try some antifungle cream 3 x a day on the rash in case its Candida yeast there . Feel better , I am so sorry
Reply:u need to shed like 70 pounds and go see a plastic surgeon because those are stretch marks buddy and its gross and your pot belly makes me sick to my stomach!!!

What is the best medicine for itchy skin? such as eczema?

My father is suffering very severe itchy skin disorder in his skin, particularly in his face, what is the best medicine for it to cure the itchyness?

What is the best medicine for itchy skin? such as eczema?
damp cloths are often the most effective treatment for eczema and eczema like irritations of the skin.

my friend had severe eczema all over her body except her bottom. she had tried every cream and potion in the world, nothing worked long term.

eventually someone suggested she wear wet bandages. so she took time off work and bandaged herself like a mummy with wet bandages, and every few hours she used a squirt bottle to remoisten the bandages. within a week her eczema was totally cleared (except for a little bit on her elbows). she now just spritz's her self with water and has her eczema in check.

wet bandages may make your dad feel silly, but it will stop the irriation. even if he only does it at night when he's sleeping it will help.

good luck!
Reply:If the first suggestion doesn't work, maybe petroleum jelly will help? or go to a dermatologist who might prescribe a cream with some steroid?
Reply:Your father should see a dermatologist. The dermatologist can prescribe some creams or lotions, and in severe cases, some pills. My doctor prescribed a cream called Locoid, and that worked.

Your father might also want to try some over the counter products.

I saw that Aveeno has two new things specifically made for eczema- http://www.aveeno.com/

The line is called Aveeno Eczema Care, and they carry moisturizing cream and body wash.

White patches on skin with no coloring?
Vitilgo

A skin disorder that creates smooth, depigmented white spots on the skin.
Reply:A lot of people who tan will sometimes get a buildup of fungus on parts of their skin causing white spots that don't get darker no matter how much they tan. You could use any dandruff shampoo to take care of the problem or go to the dermatologist and get an anti-fungal cream if it persists. Report It

Reply:maybe its just ash try sum thick lotion like coco butter paste

It is a genetic condition of lack of pigment in the skin.

Micheal Jackson claims to have it.
Reply:The skin is the mirror of our internal health. The chemicals we ingest with various vegetables and fruits harm our health, that is reflected on our skin. The skin structure is damaged, and we can have different sizes of patches, especially when the sun rays touch our skin. Even the cheese we buy is full of chemicals which is against fungus. sometimes you feel that taste, and it's awful. The one I had contained "Natamycin".

Exema a skin disease HELP!?

ok my mom has this bad skin disorder called exema

do you know any ways to soothe it or maybe even stop it

please tell me what youve tried and what worked for you.

Exema a skin disease HELP!?
Heal with oatmeal. "Oatmeal baths made from powders such as Aveeno provide effective but temporary relief from the itching of eczema and dermatitis

Relieve the itch with ice. An ice pack made by putting ice cubes in a plastic bag and placing it on the itchy area makes an inexpensive and effective itch fighter

Pour some cold milk onto a gauze pad or thin piece of cotton and apply it to the skin for about three minutes. Resoak the cloth and reapply at least two more times for three-minute soaks. Repeat several times a day, but make sure to rinse your skin in cool water after each application, because the milk will smell.

Avoid most antiperspirants. The active "drying" ingredients found in most antiperspirants-aluminum chloride, aluminum sulfate and zirconium chlorohydrates-are too irritating to those with dry, sensitive skin.

Keep nails short and clean

Humidify your surroundings recommend either buying a cold-air humidifier or placing shallow pans of water near radiators and on wood stoves to add humidity

Showers should last about three minutes-and no longer than five minutes because longer shower will make dryness worse. And use only your fingertips to wash--not washcloths or sponges--and then pat yourself dry

Don't forget your emollients

Wise to double-rinse your laundry to make sure the detergent rinses out and won't come in contact with your skin

Don't use dryer sheets because some of the chemicals in fabric-softening dryer sheets remain on the skin and can be irritating to people with eczema

Don't be a fool if you use a pool.(chlorine)

Buy American when it comes to cosmetics. The general rule is, avoid cosmetics if you're bothered by eczema or dermatitis. But if you must wear them, buy American. That's because some cosmetics made in Japan, Italy, France and other foreign countries contain formaldehyde, which can cause allergic dermatitis in many people.

If you are feeling stressed out or are particularly worried about something, it will only aggravate your condition.

Here are some other things that you should avoid if you're prone to eczema.:

1.Baby lotions

2.Colored toilet paper and tissues

3.Stuffed animals, fuzzy and furry toys and pillows can bother those with sensitive skin

4.Real animals

5.Fake fingernails

6.Live Christmas trees

7.Quick changes in air temperature

8.Metallic jewelry: If you're prone to nickel allergies--the most common form of contact dermatitis--then avoid watchbands, earrings and jewelry that cause a skin reaction. Buying earrings? Look for earring posts that are stainless steel.

Anyone know about skin disorders?

I have skin that is very bumpy. Someone felt my arms said it felt like i had goosebumps. The tops of my arms are red and bumpy but the the bottom part is smooth and white. The tops of my arms near the shoulder are white but dry and very bumpy. The bumps arnt red just white. My legs are red too and not bumpy. They are little dots everywhere almost like hair foliciles. You cant feel them but you can see them and they are always super dry even with lotion. I have extremely sensitive skin too. Anyone have any ideas what this might be ?

Anyone know about skin disorders?
Sounds like you have Keratosis pilaris, not a problem -

"is a very common genetic follicular condition that is manifested by the appearance of rough bumps on the skin and hence colloquially referred to as "chicken skin". It most often appears on the back and outer sides of the upper arms (though the lower arms can also be affected), and can also occur on the thighs and tops of legs, flanks, buttocks or any body part except glabrous skin (like the palms or soles of feet). Less commonly, lesions appear on the face and may be mistaken for acne." - Wikipedia

See your doctor or a dermatologist - they can prescribe Urea Cream to minimize the look of the bumps.

They sorta look like red goose bumps right?

Try this stuff..it works wonders!! This is what I use.

What is the treatment for cracks and fissures in the skin ? how can they be removed & what causes them ?

unfortunatly i have cracks and fissures in the skin on the head of my penis and theyve become more pronounced. there like little openings is the skin....where normally, the skin on the penis head would be smooth.

it seems to function normally down below.....and i dont itch except for a jock itch here and there.

the doctor said when he examined that it is unusual but not abnormal....he said he would find out more but wouldnt refer me at this time.....he also didnt think it was a skin disorder like lichen sclerosis or balantis....but he wasnt sure.

i have another appointment to see him after xmas.

i suggested canisten cream, he perscribed it, but it hasnt helped or cleared up the cracks or fissures.

im starting to get anxious about this now and what it could be....and how the cracks and fissures in my skin can be cleared so i have smooth skin again.

can anyone advise ?

What is the treatment for cracks and fissures in the skin ? how can they be removed %26amp; what causes them ?

What skin disorders would prevent a facial being done?

I am a beauty student and need to know if i can perform a facial on the following skin conditions:

albinism,boils,chloasma,hyper keratosis,melanoderma,lentigines,pseudo folliculitis,oedema,port wine stain,spider naevus,seborrhoea.

What skin disorders would prevent a facial being done?
Albinism sounds like when someone is an albino- so i think thats ok. Boils are heated, pus-filled bunps on the skin, so you can't put a facial on that! folliculitis sounds like in fected hair follicles, and seborrhoea sounds like a dandruff or hair related condition.
Reply:I'm thinking boils would be one... they are puss filled sacks on the skin (not like pimples, but I could be wrong). Try wikipedia and look each up for a deffinition (and maybe a photographic example)

http://www.wikipedia.com
Reply:you forgot eczema that's the major one i've heard of but not those other ones you named
Reply:I learnt beauty therapy at college. Here is a list of those conditions that you should not perform a facial on:

impetigo, conjunctivitis, styes (infection of sebaceous glands), boils.

Albinism, chloasmata (liver spots), lentigines, port wine stain, seborrhoea spider naevi are fine for treatment.

Oederma - should check with their doctor first.

Why did Michael Jackson's skin change colour?

Could you please tell me the reason why Michael Jackson's skin changed? I read in Wikipedia that Jackson began publically claiming that his changing skin color was due to the skin disorder vitiligo. Is it true?

Why did Michael Jackson's skin change colour?
He said that on Oprah too but I don't believe it. I think he just bleached his skin
Reply:Hey...come on guys...Michael Jackson did not do any surgeries or any other stuffs like that.he seriously has the skin problem called vitilgo...so can you guys stop attacking and just quell all these fruitless topics on the King...thanks...peace out Report It

Reply:its magic
Reply:He supposedly had a skin condition. Soo I guess it's true.
Reply:he had a skin disorder, but i thought it was impedimentsomething, i can't remember.
Reply:we can only go by what he claims, but there is a common thought that he has been bleaching his skin to go whiter, and this could be true as people who have vitiligo will tend to go paler in patches, before and not always will, join to take over all skin
Reply:his dream is to be a white man
Reply:well mostly his skin started to um look bad and started to fade so he turned it white
Reply:because he's mentally unstable but ofc he's too famous and protected to be locked up like any of the "lowly" people like you and me. He needs therapy and hides behind a million dollars worth of plastic surgery and skin bleaching. Probably all cos his dad touched his tail as a kid.
Reply:I think they said it was some disease...but i think he had some kind of sick obsessiveness with being white and he tried to bleach his skin and it went wrong!.......Oh Wacko Jacko!
Reply:doubt that it was a skin disorder. the guy put on lipstick for his trial, id say the skin color changing is one of the mysteries in his sick mind.
Reply:In Neverland all your dreams of being white are possible.
Reply:Because he bleached it. He goes on about his skin condition but I don't see how that accounts for the massive amount of "plastic" that makes up his face now. It's a sad thing to see someone so insecure destroying their natural looks by over-use of plastic surgery. ;-(
Reply:No, he got a fright
Reply:That was his excuse anyway !!! Where most people believe it was his dream to be a white man, even tho he now looks identical to his sister Janet nearly. He was supposed to be apllying some form of bleaching cream to his body.
Reply:he has a bath in bleach the perv!!!!!!!!!
Reply:opera Winfrey is supposed to have the same skin condition i don't no what its called but her skin didn't turn white what does that tell us
Reply:I remember MIchael saying that he had a disorder as well and that he took some medications which also didn't help. But then again he also said he didn't have plastic surgery but later admitted to it. I think he is not happy with himself and never was. He had it all but yet was not happy. I think it also had something to do with his parents. I think he definately is bleaching the skin or taking something to lighten the skin. I think he believes he will be more successful if he were white. Why else would he lighten his skin, get surgery on his nose? He was a good looking man, now he looks like a freak.
Reply:Yes they said it was Vitiligo but I find this hard to believe, I've sen whit and black skinned people with it and it's very patchy and really noticeable like imagine a black arm and in the middle theres this big splosh of completely differently coloured skin on white people its pink so I think he went with all his money and had some sort of drug or treatment to inhibit the colour of his skin pigment. He's locked away in some castle here in Ireland at hte moment word is he's recording an album The guy is just so connected to off the wll stuff I cant figure him out, but his music is amazing.
Reply:His skin started to noticeably change colour not long after that Pepsi add accident in my opinion. Look at past photos of him and you'll see what I mean. After that, I believe, he was left with some scaring and has undergone skin grafts. It's old news that he has had plastic surgery but I don't think it was all just for vanities sake, though he/it is extremely vain. He/it also is a recluse and when people don't get enough sun they become very pale. A combination of the two factors is why I reckon he/it seems to have turned white.

I think the question these days is - "Has he had a sex change or what?" given that he has been seen a lot lately in womens clothing???
Reply:He apparently bleached his skin, with a special cream.
Reply:apparently he didnt like his father and wanted to be so unklike his father he wanted to be white. so he had an awful amount of sugery.

hope this helps, xxxx
Reply:Michael Jackson's skin color changed due to a skin disorder that he had suffered for a long time. That skin disorder is called Vitiligo, which caused his skin color to change drastically, and it is absolutely true.
Reply:In the late 80's I worked for a major U.S. toy company, which had landed the exclusive licensing rights to produce an "11.5" Michael Jackson Fashion Doll". Michael Jackson had made a special request to come into the company to see how toys are designed and made. This event was scheduled on a Saturday morning when the company was normally closed, so consequently company personnel were asked to work that day. Upon seeing Michael Jackson as he was guided through the premises I noted that his fingers were all radically bandaged, and he was wearing his surgical mask. But upon gazing upon his wrists and hands, his skin was extremely chapped and exfoliating severely with scaled skin. Exfoliation is not a symptom of Vitiligo, but rather surface pigment discoloration is. Instead, what I saw is a symptom of damaged flesh from a toxic pigment bleaching chemical like chlorine.
Reply:Who cares? All that really matters is that he's a child molesting skin bleaching weirdo.
Reply:Skin Bleaching
Reply:He has the genetic skin disease called Vitiligo!!

♥♥We Love You Michael!!!!♥♥
Reply:I thought he had just had some plastic surgery!
Reply:Many people think that he had plastic surgery, but he didn't. He had the skin disorder known as vitiligo. He was going to be all covered in brown spots,so he decided to remove them, I don't think there's anything wrong with that. Also he has lopus; which is another skin disorder, but this skin disorder makes you develope a pink-purple rash all over your face. That is another reason why Michael is having so many surgeries. Lopus doesn't have a cure and you can't get rid of it permanently. Poor Michael. But still many people including myself still and always will support Michael!
Reply:He did claim that it was due to the skin disorder vitiligo but claiming something doesn't make it true. I know someone with the disorder and have seen programmes on it and basically the pigment cells in your skin die in small patches that gradually spread over many years eventually joining up. These patches are totally white and burn if exposed to the sun, they cannot tan.

MJ went gradually lighter in skin tone all over which wouldn't happen so I personnally believe it was cosmetic surgery
Reply:Well I now people who have like him vitiligo and it gets really white but Michael is defenetiv somehow useing thing to make it completely over all his body. I guess he is bleaching it, because he doesn't like the way how it looks without it. And trust me Vitiligo is not a good looking thing. And depence on the persons personality and strongeness not to bleach it, and Michael is not one of the those persons.
Reply:no... he had it bleached

Do body scrubs make skin lighter?

i have naturally light skin but i developed a skin disorder that makes my skin instanly sensitive to the sun. so it's not like i'm trying to change who i am, i'm just trying to get my skin the way it used to be. i'm ur gonna criticize to me don't bother to answer. thanks to those of u who do:]

Do body scrubs make skin lighter?
Body scrubs will remove the top layer of the skin which holds the melanin that makes your skin dark. It is a long process and you should do it gently, because over exfoliating will irritate and cause dark scars.
Reply:No body scrubs just exfoliate dead skin cells
Reply:It takes off the tanned layer of skin on top which would fall off eventually (that's why tans disappear)
Reply:A body scrub will exfoliate away any dead skin cells you might have which will make your skin glow but it does take away a lil bit of your tan. I don't think it should make a dramatic difference. I hope this helps!

Oily Face / skin?

Very oily face ( very very very very oily, concentrated oil), black heads, white heads, sebum, ache ( not much ), enlarged pores at nose area, often my face look very red, perhaps I got a sensitive skin. I can really tell you, no body here can beat my oil secretion, each time i wash my face, i can start to feel the oil in 20 mins . Yes! I am not joking .. I have been suffering this kind of skin disorder since i was 12. Most of my oil secretion form on the enlarged pores on my nose, ( look like beads ) which is very unpleasant looking and dont like the feeling too. Then maybe another 30 mins later, my whole entire face start to fill with oil. I have been to see a demalogist ( skin specialist ), went for facial treatment and still on medication, but seem like it doesnt help me at all. I always feel low, shy especially when talking other people , cuz i do not want to let them stare directly at my face.. I am very depressed.. sometimes feel like dying too.. Can anyone help me out ?

Oily Face / skin?
I am so sorry you are sad! Try to cut out foods that are greasy and oily. If you have to, use an astringent with alcohol, keep babywipes with you that contain (rubbing) alcohol, it drys skin. Maybe this will help! Good luck!
Reply:try astringent
Reply:well, if this cure doesn't help u have to get another. my son is 14 now, he has lots of acne and black heads and and all kinda stuff, doctor prescribed him some derivative of tetracycline antibiotic every day for half a year and some gel after shower before sleep. one month he is on this treatment - his acnes became much less and much smaller and gel dries skin. but it all was prescribed by doctor
Reply:Oh dear, you poor thing....:)..........Perhaps you need to eat more foods with Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin) in them. The body can't produce this vitamin so we need to make sure we eat plenty of things like liver, green leafy vegetables, eggs, molasses, wheat germ, peanuts, cheese, apples, carrots, milk, whole wheat breads, fish and poultry.......Good Luck

Oh, in the meantime......try squeezing half a lemon into a bowl, get some cotton balls, dab your face all over with the juice, let dry naturally, wash your face with warm water after 2 - 3 hours. Voila!! The results are wonderful. Then moisturize slightly with a tiny bit of Cold pressed Extra virgin olive oil...:)
Reply:Hi,

When you see a dermatologist and do facial, you are only treating the problem from an outside in perspective.

Did you know tat internal imbalances within our body can also affect the sensitivity, colour and the effectiveness of our skin?

From a natural health point of view, you sound more as if you are suffering from inflammation of some sort. I would probably have to see you to know and give you more details.

Would you consider a detox?

A detox can bring balance to your body and when that happens, you will find tat your skin gets better. I had a friend with very oily skin finding himself secreting less oil after he did a detox.

If you do a detox, you will be able to:

- gain better health and

- better vitality and

- even more radiant skin and

- the loss of some excess pounds as well,

All you need to do is three things.

Number one, follow the detox programme which requires you to change your diet a little bit. Eg, take more vege and less meat and seafoods.

Number two, use 1 minute a day to take some natural health foods consumable even by babies and pregnant women that will enhance the speed and the effect of the detox.

Number three, drink lots of water to flush the toxins out.

And that's it.

The rest is up to you.

So what do you think? ;)

Help! Serious skin problem.?

Okay, I have a skin disorder that no doctor can diognise. BAsically, I'm covered from head to toe in large and small dark colored marks (spots and larger weird shapes).

To make things worse, the skin color of my body is about 3-4 times darker than the rest of me. My back is even worse- it's almost black. What can I do to even out the skin colour? Please help.

I'm naturally dark skinned BTW.

Reply:you can try to exfoliate thru the use of skin lightening products.. do a test area first to see how this could work for you.. if you're not experiencing any pain or irritation on what you have right now, i think it's safe to try exfoliation.. the dark spots may be dead skin cells accumulated or overly exposed areas to the sun.. it would help if you send me a picture so i could take a look on what i can offer.. let me help you.

i do and its called vitiligo (this is not me)

http://youtube.com/watch?v=4HOaBkomGb8%26amp;f...

its a skin disorder that has to do with the immune system attacking the cells that give color to the skin mistaken them by a virus . I cannot be out in the sun as it damages greatly and cant eat certain foods .Stupid people out there stay staring at me , please if you see any of us in the street please dont stare

its offensive! do you have any disorders that make you feel like a freak?

Obsessive compulsive disorder, feedback from users of Prozac, reaction to cold air or water, red itchy skin?

exposed skin, goes red and blotchy plus itches when exposed to cold air and water or touch cold objects. is this usual to patients taking prozac/ fluoxetine. the only remedy to reaction is warm up affected area's.

Obsessive compulsive disorder, feedback from users of Prozac, reaction to cold air or water, red itchy skin?
Fluoxetine / Prozac can lead to allergic reactions. The chances are very low and comparable to other psychotropic drugs. Every drug can lead to allergic reactions. In this case it seems that allergy is being caused by exposure to cold. Stay on prozac and discuss it with your practitioner. Do not discontinue it without consultation.
Reply:Ask your doctor if this is a common side effect. Maybe it is another condition altogether. He/she may want to prescribe something other than Prozac. There are some very good alternatives.
Reply:this reminds me the time I took too many sleeping peels, i was so fu*ked and my skin was so itchy I wanted to cut it :)

difficult one. Try to do something else when that happens. As soon as you feel you are going to put your fingers in your mouth , jump up and go do something else. Or you could always put hot sauce on your finger tips.
Reply:Put something on that particular finger ,it will stop u until u lose that habit.
Reply:Cure; your; anxiety.
Reply:My sister did that too. You need to ask your doctor about it, and try to put something on your fingers that taste bad. The have medication for the anxiety you are experiencing. Good luck.
Reply:Take a anti-depressent that works for anxiety too.
Reply:the best answer is see a doctor they can help with either counseling or medication
Reply:You seem to be asking 2 Qs, one about social anx; and about biting skin.

You can stop biting your skin by replacing this activity with another. Carry some Curel, or moisturizer with you. In the a.m., rub the ends of your fingers with lotion. During the day, when you feel like biting, rub instead.

Replenish the lotion in private, on your break, in the washroom.

Over a period of time, the skin on your fingers will heal, and the additional rubbing will smooth it out.

When you see how much improved the appearance of your fingers, this will motivate you to refrain from chewing.

The social anxiety is a deeper rooted issue, but mastering the finger-biting is a step toward greater self-confidence. Lack of confidence/shame-gone-awry is usually at the root of socio-phobic/shame affect disorders.

Maybe this is what is deep down inside? Work with a therapist on this issue; good luck.
Reply:Do visualization, write in meetings, chew gum, hard candy. Or see if antidepressants will work (it does for some).
Reply:Spend more time alone. Or learn to analize your social situations a little. BE aware of your breath, try to find the way to make it last. Meditation or so.
Reply:I do the same thing; eating the skin around the fingernails that is.

I have been doing so for ages now, to the point that some of my finger tips have been slightly "deformed"; or rather it is the nails themselves who have adopted a new path of growth, making it look like my finger tips are slightly bent.

For years I've been trying to cure myself of this very nasty habit. It can actually lead to gangrene if you dig in too much and the "wound" gets infected. Often I would try to put polisporin (or other regenerative compound) on my fingertips before going to sleep, hoping it would heal the skin around the nails overnight. Truth is, it does help a bit but it isn't miraculous.

Stress and fear and the main factors which drive this habit of mine. Stress is everyday life; the lifestyle of the post 80s/90s in today's wireless computer internet age. Fear is basically one of those strong emotions which cannot be easily controlled. Although I literaly face my fear(s) every single day, and deal with them, I just seem to cannot stop eating that skin around my nails!

The only solution I was able to find (thanks to my wife) is actually so simple it will sound ridiculous. It is basically becoming concious of your actions as you are doing then, hence in this case, trying to stop yourself before you do. So every time I put my fingers to my mouth , I try to stop myself. It doesn't always work, but since I am more aware of what I am doing, and of course that other fear of gangrene, I have considerably toned down on this nasty habit.

Let me know if you find a more decent solution to this!
Reply:when i was young i have this problem too :%26gt; my father paint the ammonia on my finger .....then i never do it again
Reply:I also suffer from an anxiety disorder, and most of the time when I am feeling very stressed, I tend to scratch or rub the top of my head alot, or just cover it with my hands. I have had the hardest time breaking the habit. It seems like the only way to rid yourself of biting is to confront whatever it is that drives your anxiety. If there is a large group of people that are triggering your anx, then you should try and become the center of attention. I always feel as if somthing is going terribly wrong, in my own head. All I do is confront the fact that I am making myself feel that way, and I try to contradict it by letting myself know I am still breathing and thinking and functioning. I am aware of my problem, and then I can ignore it and get back to life. But, if that fails too often, then maybe getting professional help like therapy or medication would be better. I'm kind of paranoid when it comes to mhmr drugs, so I try to tough it out. Try it on for size, and good luck
Reply:Hypnotherapy; it's non-invasive, no drugs, no side-ellects, it's quick, painless, and can work wonders, by "re-programming" your unconscious mind.
Reply:You are experiencing mild anxiety.

If it`s not possible to stop it ASAP..try substituting nailbiting by deepbreathing or think of a quiet place whenever you are anxious.Or try positive self-talk.

I tried it when I am anxious or afraid. It`s very useful.
Reply:Probably you might have generalised anxiety disorder.it is diffficulkt to make a diagnosis based on your question and your interpretation of social anxiety disorder.

Some of the associated symptoms may include excessive worrying, sweating ,awareness of your heart beat, avoiding situations-like avoiding open spaces with large crowds, fear of the unknown etc.

Some forms of treatments include

Non drug treatments-Counselling to talk and discusss your fears and anxities,desensitisation-i.e graded exposure to the thing/object/situation that you fear.Desensitisation is used to treat phobias(Fears)

2) drug treatments/ medication

Benzodiazepines(Diazepam,lorazepam,alp... etc)treatment%26gt;It is meant to be short term 2-4 weks treatment.Use beyond 4 weeks can lead to addicion and dependence to the drug.

3)Antidepressant medications(like citalopram etc) in a low dose are used in the management of anxiety disorders. The doses are below the requirements needed for treating depression.

I'm taking lamictal for my bipolar disorder & it's making the skin on my fingertips peel off like crazy...

it's really, really, really annoying!

is this normal?

and is there anything i can do to make it stop peeling, or at least peel less?

I'm taking lamictal for my bipolar disorder %26amp; it's making the skin on my fingertips peel off like crazy...
i seriouslly doubt it has anything to the lamictal. i've been on it for over 7 years for seizure disorder. I also work in a pharmacy which means i am constantly in the know when it comes to side effects and drug studies. as for the skin peeling, use a better moisterizer or take some multiple vitamins for skin health. good luck!

Does apple cider vinegar really work for skin disorders?

I've read that putting a few tablespoons in a drink 3 times a day can really cure a lot of skin disorders. Has anyone tried it?

Does apple cider vinegar really work for skin disorders?
The Psoriasis Foundation hears from people who apply apple cider vinegar to their skin as a treatment for psoriasis. People add it to the bath, mix it with a moisturizer, soak fingernails and toenails in it, and apply it directly to the skin with cotton balls or pads.
Reply:Yes. But putting it directly on the skin is better (for acne, or getting rid of residue/oil) But be careful to only do it at night, because the sun and the acetic acid don't mix well together. you can also use it as a hair rinse.
Reply:There is a classic old book written by a country doctor which talks about Vermont folk remedies that mentions the use of apple cider vinegar, but for arthrritis, I think. I know a little bit of apple cider vinegar in a cup of hot water helps when you feel bloated after eating. Since skin disorders are related to digestive problems, I guess it would help/

Is there a hormonal disorder that causes premature skin aging?

Can it be caused by anorexia?

Is there a hormonal disorder that causes premature skin aging?
ANOREXIA absolutelly affects the way you and your skin looks. It is an extremely serious disorder!!!! If it is you, please talk to someone.

Diet affects everything in our bodies. It plays a vital role in how you look, feel and of course how you age.

Eating right to keep your skin soft, glowing and strong at any age:

·Orange/red fruits and vegetables: can include tomatoes, squash and carrots- these are packed with beta-carotene, which is an antioxidant that is essential for healthy skin, scalp and mucous membranes.

·Shellfish and fish: try salmon, crab, shrimp and lobster- contain astaxanthin, an extremely potent antioxidant that protects your skin from the damaging environment, helps prevent age spots and wrinkling.

·Nuts and seeds- these are rich in vitamin E which helps protect the skin from sun damage

·Citrus fruits- such as oranges, grapefruits, are high in Vitamin C. It is essential to collagen production, and it is the collagen that gives connective tissue strength and resilience.

·Unrefined whole grain- these could be wheat, barley , oats and rye- all contain silica, a mineral that helps to repair damaged skin , hair and nails. Silica helps to strengthen collagen and elastin.

Anti-Aging Super- Foods:

Top pick for this category include any deeply pigmented fruits and vegetables. This includes tomatoes, spinach, cabbage, broccoli, berries and grapes, garlic, onions, green tea, soybean, cold water fish and spices such as turmeric, cinnamon and cumin.

All of these are very rich in PHYTOCHEMICALS. These are the molecules that give the food the striking color, taste or smell. Their responsibility is to defend the plants against infection and environmental damage, and in humans they have shown to have anticancer activity. And , just like antioxidants, they help protect the body against harmful free radicals and vascular disease.

These foods also contain omega-3 fatty acids. These fatty acids help lower cholesterol, improve insulin sensitivity, reduce inflammation and facilitate weight loss. Dark leafy greens, cold water fish and soybean are an excellent source of omega 3 fatty acids.

They are also considered “hot” foods – they help the body burn calories in the form of heat, just by eating them.
Reply:anorexia can cause more than just premature skin aging, a lot more than that!
Reply:uh not that i have herd of but you skin will not be as healthy, When you have anorexia your body is not getting enough nutrition and protein that it needs so it feeds off your fat which is not very healthy for your body ! ! ! ! !

Is constant picking your skin around the cuticle a disorder?

I have this problem that I cannot stop doing. I have been biting and picking the skin at the tips of my fingernails since I was a little girl. They are constantly red and irritated, sometimes bleeding. It gets bad around stressful times, but then it continues afterward for a while. Is it just a bad habit or a problem? Sometimes it gets painful and I can't stop. I have quit consecutively for nine months when I was pregnant, but started back after giving birth. I am afraid that I will contract a disease or something if I touch another open wound or something. Please tell me who I can contact. I just went to see my parents and now I am at my worst. I am finally admitting to someone that this is a problem other than just discusting and I need help.

Is constant picking your skin around the cuticle a disorder?
this problem can be a disorder called onychophagy which is caused by excessive nail biting

*apperance -very little nailplate (nail

-buulbous skin at the finger tip

-nail walls are ofen red and swollen

due to biting of the skin surrounding the nail

(treatment)-regular weekly manicures

-cuticle treatment to maximise the visible nail plate area

(home care advice)-try a clear nail varnish called nail biting in the sally hansan range as this prevent u from biting your nails as the taste of the nail varnish is horrible

-wear gloves to avoid biting ..................i hope this infomation helps u
Reply:no not really but it is called stress or bordem to me it sound like when your stressed out and a reck you take it out on your hands trye yoga or trye mediation
Reply:there's this wonderful new thing called modern medicine that is practiced by doctors... they have medication for everything; just go see one. =] good luck!
Reply:I think you want to talk to a mental health professional. It likley has to do with anixiety an stress . I do similar things when I am stressed.

medication can help
Reply:yes it is considered self mutilation a very subtle form of it, i do the exact same thing i used to bite my nails too but i made myself stop that and now i just pick at my cuticles and the skin above below and at the sides of my nails. stress worsens it. what you need to do is get an anti anxiety medication lexapro works for me but then there is paxil prozac effexor all kinds of things and i know everyone frowns on them coz they think you are drugged up but all the medication does is normalize your seritonin levels so you function like everyone else. and i also go to the free mental health clinic and you should have one in your county and recieve free therapy and they also get my medication for cheaper and give you samples and stuff i also take dilantin for my seizures and the dilantin makes me shakey and stressed so ive started doing it again. but trust me there is nothing wrong with taking anti anxiety meds god wont frown on you he gave us the ability to create this stuff just dont take anything like xanax or ativan you will get addicted and trust me the withdrawls are bad.

What is clinical term for the disorder where one skin picks and bites lips more often than not?

I believe it represents some form of depression...

What is clinical term for the disorder where one skin picks and bites lips more often than not?
instead of doing something else you just lead to projecting what you feel inside through constant picking and biting your lips you use it as a defense mechanism for you didnt let go of what you feel and what you must act and or you are tense and conscious.

Can having an eating disorder cause your skin to break out more/and hair not grow?

Honest answers only, please. Don't give me a 'lecture' you don't know my reason for asking and it's none of your business anyways.

Can having an eating disorder cause your skin to break out more/and hair not grow?
Yes. Anytime there is a nutritional deficiency hair loss can occur and the skin can become weakened. Eating disorders also effect internal functions too, basically, if you see signs and symptoms on the outside, then there are probably many more on the inside. The teeth can also start to decay. If the disorder involves emesis,(throwing up)...then the tooth decay and throat irritation will be more pronounced. It is hard to give specific advice without knowing all the details about what your asking. I suggest seeking professional medical intervention for whomever your asking this for, because treating these disorders can be tricky, even for those of us in medicine. It is psychological just as much as it is physical. Catching it early makes a HUGE difference.
Reply:I think your hair can fall out from lack of nutrients and depending on what sort of disorder you can really damage your teeth, stomach ect.
Reply:Yes. your body is not receiving enough nutrients and your immunity can decrease. Think of it this way, your body needs to run on energy in order to operate... so when it's not getting enough energy it will focus on the major organs and let the others go into disrepair.

This doesn't mean that all is well with everything else, because your body is struggling to survive and of course, if things escalate, it might not make it through.

china green

Is it true that if you're mix(chinese and malay or others), you tend to have skin problem?or hormone disorder?

i am mix chinese, malay and some natives from indonesia and sarawak, malaysia. i have skin disease called eczema, my sister is allergic to chicken, once she eats, her starts to have rashes and itchiness on her skin. my friend, he's mix too and he sweats a lot, even in an air-conditioning place. and he said his skin is sensitive too.

Is it true that if you're mix(chinese and malay or others), you tend to have skin problem?or hormone disorder?
no it is not true. my family is mixed too but only one person in my family suffers eczema. Her condition wasnt that bad. Her skin is only sensitive to all metals other than gold which means that she cannot have any prolonged skin contact with metals other than gold. Her skin is also sensitive to detergents. She avoided all those and she is fine now.

Its genetic that will be passed onto the next generation. It has nothing to do with mix blood.
Reply:I'm mix too (malay+chinese) and i do have eczema. But, I don't really think that this (being a mixed) has got anything to do with skin problem or any hormonal disorder. What i do know is, if any of your family members suffer from any allergies, you are more prone to have the same condition. It's like you inherit that from your parents...
Reply:No, there is absolutely no reason to believe that.

In fact, mixing races or in other words, mixing two totally different gene-pools is in most cases producing very very healthy children.

With the allergy thing you guys are just unlucky....
Reply:maybe

but being chinese/vietnamese, i do have:

-bad skin

-weak blood cells

-poor cardiovascular
