sounds more like hepatitis c-a double stranded RNA virus that needs the liver as it's host. hcv is not just a liver disease and affects major organs-skin is the largest organ. if she has not been tested for actual antibodies and her liver panel (ast and alt's) are within normal limits, she can still be infected. many doctors do not know about this issue. when they see normal lab reports, they assume all is well.

if this cracking of skin starts out with very tiny pustules, then breaks open and creates linear cracking, harding of the skin, she is not allergic to water, she simply might have hcv!

this rash is very common in those with this virus.

please tell her to ask her doctor to test for hepatitis c antibodies, remember, the alt and ast levels can appear fine and a person can still be infected.....

i amongst others are well aware of this issue and are walking proof. my rash on my right hand never went away until i treated my hcv. it has all resolved.

good luck!
Reply:What type of disorder does she have?
Reply:She could probably use a waterless cleanser such as Cetaphil. It's available in most drugstores.

Or your friend could ask her doctor.
