Hidradenitis Suppurativa -Hidradenitis suppurativa is a chronic, pus-producing (suppurative), scarring (cicatricial) disease process that occurs due to obstruction of hair follicles and secondary infection and inflammation of certain sweat glands (apocrine glands), particularly those under the arms (axillae) or within the anal/genital (anogenital) region. The disease is characterized by the development of recurrent, boil-like nodular lesions and deep pus-containing pockets of infection (abscesses) that may eventually rupture through the skin. Healing of affected areas is typically associated with progressive scarring (fibrosis). The specific underlying cause of hidradenitis suppurativa is unknown.
Reply:Leprosy would be a good topic. The bacillus Micoplasm leprae is still around, and occasionally someone contracts leprosy.
Reply:I'd roll w/ webMD. its a solid website that expalins zillions of health conditions and is reliable. wikipedia is also amazing. go to wikipedia.com and search the skin condition in the search field and im sure you will get a good amount of info. also, just google it, distinguish reliable info from unreliable info and there has to be a website out there. the health canada website and the contacts it gives might also be a good resource, maybe even try contacting your doctor and im sure they would help you out! hope it helps!
Reply:Go to Yahoo or Google, or whatever search engine you normally use and type in "Skin disorders/rare". You're bound to come up with dozens of different sites. The only rare skin disorders that come to mind are leprosy and scleroderma. I'm sure there are many, many more.

As far as websites, I have just been typing the disease in the search area in Yahoo.
